Here's a progression of Hercules, a 2019 Mercedes Sprinter 4x4 Van, 144" wheelbase.

8/22/19 - Purchased Hercules in Tiverton, Rhone Island, at Viti automative group and drove it back to Salt Lake City, Utah.

9/5/19 - Van gets wrapped by Yucky Production

9/21/19 - Hercules gets some new tires and wheel from Les Schwab (265/70/17 Maxxis Razr and Black Rhino Warlord wheels).

10/1/19 - Ventured to San Diego to see Aluminess for some accessories. Hercules gets front & rear bumpers, rear storage box, spare tire rack, their new modular roof rack, nerf bars, and ladder. The finished look exceeded all our expectations.

To be totally honest, the nerf bars were originally purely a cosmetic feature. After the first week of owning the van, cosmetic turned into the practical function of protecting the door from door dings. Now that they're installed, WOW, the convenience of using the bars getting in and out of the van is great. The 2019 Sprinter 4x4 stands about 2 1/2" taller than a 2WD before any aftermarket modifications. 2 1/2 inches doesn't sound that much but I can attest it was quite a step to get into the van; not anymore with the nerf bars.
